I was trapped in my house for 3 days because FedEx said the delivery was coming and then it did not arrive when they said it would. I live alone and porch pirates live for people who don’t take a delivery immediately. I would rather pay extra for shipping for USPS Priority Mail then to deal with FedEx!!
This guitar is the best travel guitar ever. Perfect for intimate performances.
I've been messing with this little thing for a bit and it's great. There was a minor flaw on the headstock logo (and I like the old non-cursive logo more tbh) but aside from that, no real complaints with how it arrived. Great gig bag, set up was pretty good but I did have to do very minor truss rod adjustment, likely because it was shipped from California to Maryland during the winter. The frets could probably use a good polishing too, slightly scratchy when bending but enough playing will probably fix it anyway. I changed the strings to Elixir Phosphor Mediums and I think it gives it a slightly more chunky sound but I didn't mind the stock strings at all. No issues once I changed the strings, even with the difference in gauges. Tonally, this thing is great for fingerpicking across the board. Some people warn that it isn't good for strumming but I disagree. It doesn't sound as balanced as a larger acoustic might, it's very mid-forward and maybe even boxy, but it sounds great for certain genres - I can get some cool, almost lo-fi Neutral Milk Hotel, Mountain Goats tones out of it, and I like strumming it even more than my dreadnoughts for now. I like it more than I thought I would honestly - I mostly just got it because of the size and price - and kind of wish I had bought the Live version. Happy with Orangewood though, I'll keep my eye out and would pick up another mini from them if they release more.
