Oliver Jr. Mahogany Live Review

The guitar sounds good, both with and without the amp. Once tuned, it responds with rich tones. It took a little time to adjust to a smaller body output, but standing on its own, I expect it to be a rewarding purchase for years to come.

Great guitar

I purchased this sweet guitar a little over a year ago during an “almost perfect” sale. Of my three guitars, this one gets played the most and is just so easy to play and it smaller size just feels great. I had purchased one for my grand daughter earlier and of course I had to tune it up and try it out before giving it to her. That’s when I knew I would either keep hers or buy another one for me. She won out and I have been happy since. The shipping was quick, the soft case is very well made and the quality of the guitar has held up great with playing it every day for over a year. The mahogany wood gives a very warm sound. It frets out very good and all the frets are finished out smooth all along the neck. Yes, it doesn’t have the loudness and bass that a larger guitar has but for a travel guitar or just a nice guitar to pick on when the need arises, you can’t beat it. The built in pick up sounds very good when plugged in. Orangewood offers a great return policy but once you play this guitar some, the return policy will not be considered I am sure.

Lots of little issues

1. The battery door would not stay shut. Orangewood is sending me a new one.
2. The saddle is too high.
3. The nut was not cut properly, appeared to have glue on it and the low "E" string sits really high in the nut. It appears as though a filler was used in this nut slot.
Other than these little details it is fine. Like the sound, especially plugged in. The size is just what I had in mind. I can fix these little issues but was disappointed after hearing all of the hype about being set up and ready to play.

New Bestie :)

The tone of this guitar is surprising given it's size. It's literally the perfect guitar to take everywhere.
