I'll get the one con out of the way immediately: For a guitar that was supposedly set up in California, It has uncomfortably high action. I had to lower the nut a little, the saddle A LOT and adjust the truss rod slightly to take some relief out of the neck but now it plays much better. So my suggestion would be to set these guitars up to fret more easily before you ship them. Having said that, the Dana Mahogany is a great little guitar! Fit and finish are far better than I was expecting for the price. And this guitar SOUNDS AMAZING. It has a rich tone and incredible projection for its size. Despite needing to be set up better, it's still a great value. I'm having a blast playing it every day!
genial es el sonido, me gusto. recomendadisimo
Dana Mahogany (Mini Guitar)
Fantastic gig bag, very pretty guitar. Mine came with rather somewhat high action despite a straight neck so I guess the saddle would have had to be shaved a bit. I didn't bother with it, plays easily enough. Sounds like one would expect.
After my Martin was stolen 13 years ago I pretty much stopped playing. I was learning. I'm not a pro by any means. I decided to pick up again and was looking for a guitar that would suit me. I found the Orangewood guitars online and placed an order for the Dana Mahogany mini. Wow! Right out of the box, after some tuning, this instrument is SO EASY! The action is amazing - no buzzing at all. My daughter picked it up having never played and she was able to form a couple easy chords. It's very comfortable for my hands (I'm a woman with average, small girl hands). I just love it! I'm so excited to have this instrument. Thank you, Orangewood!
Thank you for the review Katy! We are so happy that you picked up the guitar again and your choice was our Dana Mahogany. We hope you and your daughter enjoy for many years to come!
