I bought the entry model Rey, because I was curious about the quality. So far, so good. The case, capo and rest of the accessories, are okay for the price. Tuners fell so-so, but fretwork is great, no spurs or sharp edges. I’m planning on changing the strings soon, then I can see how good the pins are. The C neck feels more like a V soft, but no big deal, it’s comfortable and the string action is good. Great instrument for a beginner, way better deal than the entry level, Fenders, Ibanez, Epiphone, etc.
Let me say first that I saw many Facebook promos for Orangewood Guitars, and I was intrigued, but about a year went by of looking and researching, I got an email for “mostly perfect” inventory sale. I had already decided if I bought one it would be the Morgan. Yes, I jumped at the opportunity. It resides in a spot where I can pick it up on a moments notice. Whenever my granddaughter or her dad picks it up, they are floored with the playability. Me? I love the subtle tone and warmth of it, and I really feel it has a better vibe than my Breedlove Rain Forest. And for a lot less money. And amazingly, it was great right out of the box. I’m waiting for a deal on a jumbo ( should one appear!) Well done Orangewood.
I've always wanted to learn to play guitar since I was a kid so my mom got me one from hsn when I was 16 and I tried so hard to really learn but gave it up because of how hard it was. I recently started trying again and had the same problems so I bought the Orangewood Rey for my birthday and realized it was the poor guitar setup all these years. I've improved drastically in just the two weeks I've had this guitar. This is an amazing guitar for just $200 and I will definitely buy from Orangewood again.
I’m a beginner so I take the guitar everywhere so I can learn. It plays great. However the case is basically useless. It doesn’t even have padding for a soft case. Any smack goes straight through to the guitar. I was between this guitar and a Yamaha. I would only go with the Yamaha because it comes with a good hard case. I would rather pay a bit more in order to get better quality.
I had been eyeballing Orangewood guitars for a long time and I finally got my hands on a piece. Very budget friendly, such a warm and expressive sound, comfortable and inviting to play. This may be my first time shopping but it definitely will not be my last !
