Oliver Jr. Mahogany Live

OLIVER JR Mahogany LIVE is alive!

Great little guitar! I have rotator cuff problem in my right shoulder so could not play dreadnaught size acoustics anymore. Took a chance that the Oliver Jr would be small enough and it is perfect for me. I've been looking for a while but couldn't justify the price of the small Martin or Taylor. This guitar fit my budget and my needs. The guitar arrived ahead of the scheduled delivery date!! I have found no flaws in workmanship and the setup is excellent. I was pleasantly surprised that the fret ends are bound! No fret problems! I have changed the strings but only because I don't like bright tone on my guitars. This will be used for the more folk/ballad songs in my repertoire. I've been playing for over 50 years now and can vouch that this guitar will be with me to the end. (Which won't be too soon I hope!)hahaha! OH! Great guitar case too!!! Thank you!!

Thanks for your review! We're thrilled to hear that you're enjoying the comfort and playability of your Oliver Jr. Mahogany!

Frets are not finished as good as my first Orange Wood

The Guitar is great the frets could have been polished more as it feels gritty when you bend the springs otherwise great guitar!!!

It is so great, and it is a perfect size to do anything. It is a very full and loud guitar for its size, but it has a light warm sound to it as well.

172.14 ft lbs of String Tension for Ernie Ball Earthwood Medium Lights

I contacted Ernie Ball and they said the total tension of the Earthwood Med Lt's was 172.14 ft lbs.
I'm going to replace those strings with some Thomastik's - either Plectrum AC111 (125 lbs) or Plectrum AC112 (168 lbs)

It's the most comfortable steel string acoustic guitar I've ever played.
Mine arrived with a nice low action and in perfect shape. I just might file the frets in a few places.
It's a keeper - high quality, a low price, sounds great and it's so easy to play.

Thanks for the review and for sharing the string tension specs. We hope you enjoy your Oliver Jr. Mahogany Live!
