Six months ago, if someone told me I could buy a good quality new acoustic guitar for around $130, WITH a nice gig bag, I would have laughed out loud!
I have been playing acoustic guitar for about 25 years, and always dreadnought sized. Recently, I've started having shoulder problems that make it difficult to play a dreadnought while seated, so I started researching affordable small-bodied acoustics, and stumbled across some YouTube videos about Orangewood Guitars, from content creators I trust. They were all wowed by the quality you get for the price, so I decided to pull the trigger and order one - the most affordable model, The Dana Mini (Mahogany). I received it in less than a week, and upon unboxing, I was immediately stunned by the beauty of the instrument. Upon VERY close examination, there were a couple of TINY finish issues - a rough spot on the bridge and a tiny droplet of stain on the neck binding, but for the price, these are hardly worth mentioning. I did have to adjust the truss rod, as there was some buzz at the second and third frets on the low E and A strings, but Orangewood included the allen wrench, so no problem. Once I had the truss rod adjusted and the tuning dialed in, and started playing the guitar, I immediately loved it. I have been playing it every day for a week and a half, and every time I do, I can't believe it was under $130. I'm already considering an all solid grand auditorium with cutaway and a ukulele, and I if I do make those purchases it will most likely be with Orangewood.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Dana Mini! We’re so glad to hear you’re enjoying it and that the adjustments worked out smoothly. It’s exciting to know you’re thinking about adding more Orangewood instruments to your collection—happy playing!
Really nice little Guitar. Actions really good, not too small in size. Nice quality build.
Wanted a small couch/travel/campfire guitar and came across Orangewood. For the price, it's surprising that this guitar is so affordable when competitors can reach 10-30 times its price.
The acoustics sound great and surprisingly loud for the smaller size. The guitar was setup nicely and I could play immediately without worry of harsh fret ends, scratchy frets, and higher action. However, the fretboard and bridge were a bit dry but nothing a little oil can't fix. Now the guitar looks and plays phenomenal.
Plays great, light and easy to move, perfect for everybody~!
Dana Mahogany (Mini Guitar)
Just got my Dana Mahogany guitar today and I really like it. It sounds great and it is pretty small, but I really enjoyed it. I have a regular size guitar and I like it too. But wanted to get the feeling of playing a mini guitar. I will definitely buy another guitar from here again in the future.
