Ruben Wan Demos Magnolia Live
Don’t let the small body fool you — this mini grand concert packs a punch. The black finish, matching gold pickguard and hardware, plus Ruben's signature panda logo, add even more flair.
Go live with a Fishman Flex Plus-T EQ system, complete with volume and tone controls. Press and hold the bass control to toggle the phase, while the push-push on volume activates the built-in tuner.
The Magnolia Live receives an expert setup before shipment, so it’s ready to play right out of the box with a fresh pair of Ernie Ball strings. Gig bag included.
Nice little guitar. Good tone and resonance
I've had the guitar for about a month now. I've played it every day including a gig out a local bar.
The Perfect:
- it's gorgeous (had someone at the gig comment on it!)
- plays like a dream (especially for someone with smaller hands like me), my goodness, what a neck!
- sounds bigger and warmer than it's size
- the tuning is stable
- it's comfy both standing and sitting
The Near Perfect:
- the built-in tuner is a bit finicky and is not quite as responsive as external tuners
- related, the tuning knobs are silky smooth but not consistent, i.e. I need to make larger than expected knob turns for minor tuning adjustments
- there is a slight fret buzz if you strum really hard
The magnolia live is a beautiful guitar. The colors are eye catching and I get compliments from everyone as soon as they see it for the first time. The gold and black is just perfection.
The guitar sounds great. The strings are definitely a lighter gauge which is cool if you want to learn more finger picking techniques. I would recommend a different set up if you’re a heavy strummer. I haven’t plugged it in yet so I’m not sure what it sounds like through a speaker yet but my expectations aren’t super high.
The original one I ordered came in with loose volume buttons and also did not work. Fishman electronics did not work either. Kind of a bummer having to send it back to orangewood and having to wait to get a new one but that’s part of the process.
I purchased it when it was on sale for 395. I would not have paid the extra for it if it wasn’t on sale. I don’t think it’s worth $500. At the end of the day it’s still a guitar from China and you can tell.
The size of the guitar is really something. I really enjoy it. I have big hands and the guitar feels great to play.
Great starter guitar and with the right set up could be a solid gig guitar. I use it to write music mostly because of how easy it is to play and comfortable.
Exactly what I wanted and more a beautiful guitar
I bought this for my 15yr old son. His 2nd Orangewood. He also has the rubber bridge guitar. He loves this guitar for messing around and writing songs. The sound it produces is awesome. Set up from Orangewood so far suits him.
