Best Damn Guitar

I bought this for my first ever guitar after a phenomenal review of Orangewood products from one of my best friends. I love this guitar more than most mothers love their children. The gig bag that comes with it is especially phenomenal and for it to come included in the price is unbelievable. I've basically taken it everywhere for two years and basically used the gig bag as my backpack carrying my laptop to class. 10/10 guitar.

Thank you for your review, and welcome to the Orangewood family! We're glad your guitar and gig bag have been the perfect companions on your journey. Happy playing!

You Can't Beat This Guitar for Value!!

This guitar is incredible for the price. Solid top, beautiful and flawless appearance, warm and rich sound. The neck plays great, and the setup was almost perfect right out of the box. I wish they would have filed the nut slots, in particular the G string is too tight, so you get the terrifying pinched string sound when tuning it.

My only gripe with this incredible guitar is the tuners are quite unresponsive and some take several turns to actually change the tuning a slight amount. None of these things would stop me from buying or recommending this guitar cause I love it! Thanks Orangewood!

Thank you for your review! We're so glad you're enjoying your Oliver! For help with the nut slots or tuners, feel free to reach out to our customer service team at hello@orangewoodguitars.com—we’d be happy to help!

Great little guitar!

Just received my Oliver! What a great little instrument! I’ve played for 65 years and own a dozen or so different guitars. I presently own Martins, Collings, Bourgeois, Yamaha acoustics. I was curious to see just what these guitars are all about so I ordered one. Great service, it arrive quickly and in perfect condition. Well packed and a great gig bag, it’s a pretty little guitar that tunes pretty well, intonation and string height was good . Its voice is a little quieter than an all wood guitar but it’s what I expected. The cons being, it needs a little more relief, the neck was totally flat. I raised the string height a tiny bit by shimming the saddle. Personal preferences. Adjustments were easy. The only thing I might change is the tuners. The seem to be slipping a little? I’ll watch this over the next few days. Overall I’m happy enough with Oliver to buy one for my son’s 31st birthday. He loves it, too! Thank you! GY New Hampshire!

Thank you so much for your review—we’re thrilled to hear you’re enjoying your Oliver! If the tuners continue to give you any trouble, feel free to reach out to hello@orangewoodguitars.com and we’ll be happy to help.

Great Guitar

I've had this guitar for about 3 months now, and have had a great time with it! For starters, it came out of the box in pristine condition. I was nervous about how it would be shipped, but Orangewood seems to do a fantastic job securing these instruments for shipping, so zero issues there!

Now for the sound. I have been playing for about 2.5 years now, and before buying this guitar, I had only ever played dreadnaughts. With this guitar being the smaller grand concert body shape, I expected the sound to struggle, particularly on the lower end. Not so! While the low end is certainly less deep and powerful than it would be on a dreadnaught (to be expected), this guitar has a lovely warm sound that fills the room quite nicely, both for strumming and playing fingerstyle. It also holds a tune very nicely once the fresh strings are stretched... which brings me to the professional setup prior to shipping.

I have never had a guitar set up personally, but I can't imagine it would be much better than this! No sharp frets, action is optimal, and, as mentioned before, tune holds very nicely. Orangewood also includes a tool to adjust the truss rod when the time comes, which is a very nice touch. I couldn't have been happier with it!

Overall, this is a fantastic value, especially if you're someone who is just starting out, or if you just want a guitar for the living room. If you're looking to use this guitar on stage, like in a church or with a band, I would recommend looking into the Oliver Live for the electronics, but outside of that, this is a fantastic purchase, and I am absolutely loving it!

Entry level wonder!!

Got the Oliver in mid December and have been loving it since. I recently picked up playing after a brief try at playing. An excellent instructor and a thoroughly enjoyable guitar, entry level at that, does wonders. Thanks Orangewood for making such a fine instrument so affordable! I can’t wait to playing better so I can upgrade with another Orangewood!
