I’ve had my Morgan for almost 5 years now and it is my main squeeze. Durable? Yes. Playable? Yes. Sound quality? High. I just went and got it set up professionally for the first time and five years and she is like brand new. This guitar has been through everything with me. Thanks! Also which size Marshall should I get?
Morgan Spruce Live
Just love this thing so much. Got mine a few days ago. I can't even stay without playing for a minute🤪
Hey Orangewood! I honestly think its time you make another video review of the morgan spruce live. The one from from 5 years ago doesn't do justice to the ones you're selling currently. A fan for life😀🎸🎸🫡
I'm really happy with this guitar. The more I play it the more I like it! The Oranegwood purchase experience was as good any. I would buy from Orangewood again.
Thanks for your review, we're so glad to hear that your Orangewood inspires you to play!
The Morgan Spruce live I originally ordered took some time to get. I ordered right before Christmas but had to wait due to low stock. No big deal. I was happy to wait.
I received the guitar and inspected it. There was some odd sanding by the first fret that felt like a wave under my fingers. In addition, it appeared to have a deep groove that was filled with finish on the neck. I contacted Orangewood and they were quick to offer a replacement or refund. I chose the replacement. I asked if they would be willing to cross ship it since I had waited so long in the first place. They agreed and about five days later, I had a new, amazing guitar.
The replacement has no noticeable blemishes. But this does not mean it is perfect. There are a couple of small things that could move this from a 4 star to a 5 star guitar.
First, I think the bridge might need a little sanding as there is a noticeable ring or chime sound coming from the high E string. I will check it out in a few weeks when I change the strings. This is where being able to play before buying is an advantage. I could have heard this in the shop and compared it to another.
Second, the tuning pegs are odd. They have a rubberized grip which is OK for me, but I could see some people not being a fan. The bigger issue is the amount of play in them. They are tight, but it seems to take about a quarter turn before it starts to adjust the string. I would prefer a more responsive tuner, but you know what? This thing holds its tune really well. I had to go out of town one weekend and when I came back the strings needed a very slight adjustment. Weird tuners, but they do the job.
Third and finally, the included Fishman pickup is fine through an amp, and does well on a direct in when recording or using an interface. But there seems to be little room for adjustment. The volume is either on, or barely able to be heard. The tone is either all highs, or barely any at all. A little playing with it and fine tuning and you will be good to go.
In the end, I will buy from them again. This is a great guitar from a company that provides great customer service.
