Oliver Spruce

I received my Orangwood Oliver Spruce five days from order to delivery! My toughest decision was choosing between the Spruce and Mahagony top so i flipped a coin.
I bought this guitar to replace my Taylor 214 which was destroyed.
What an awesome guitar for under $200. The fit and finish are perfect and the fret ends are smooth. The set up is great out of the box. The intonation is perfect at the 5th, 7th, and 12th frets.
The weather has been crazy, in the 70's yesterday and 50's today so i didn't expect it to be in tune and it wasn't, but it was very close.
Im not an Ernie Ball strings fan so I'll be changing the strings to Elixir for a brighter tone. The gig bag is high quality and should protect the guitar well. I was surprised to find the back of the tuners covered in protective plastic! Overall i am amazed at the quality of this guitar for the price. It's a pleasure to play and sounds like a high end guitar.
Thank you Orangewood!

We are glad to hear that you are enjoying your guitar!

Playing on an acoustic since 1979

I was shocked and humbled. Shocked because the tonal quality of my new Oliver Grand Concert exceeded my expectations. Humbled because I had bought a Canadian-made solid wood from Godin weeks before, with the assumption that I would be disappointed with a new Orangewood. Was I wrong. I’ve been playing guitar for 40 years. The playability of the O is impressive - and its woodsy vibe beats out my Godin - at half the price! Keep up the amazing supply of affordable guitars, and keep sticking it to the man! The world needs more Orangewood! Delivery to Canada, by the way, was surprisingly simple, too! :)

Oliver Spruce

Great instrument, and not just for the price, but overall! I cannot comprehend how they do it with the quality and craftsmanship. I’m impressed!

Beautiful guitar

I bought this for my sister. It's beautiful guitar with a sweet tone. I have an Orangewood Brooklyn, and this is almost as nice, though the neck seems slightly thicker. The finish is flawless and the setup perfect. I've had the chance to play a few other guitars in the price range: a Mitchel solid mahogony top that was is quite as nicely finished and had nowhere near as nice a tone; a Mitchel solid spruce top that was nominally identical to the mahogony one but was really crappy with cracks in the neck and a tone like an oatmeal box; an Alvarez Regent that is pretty comparable, though it's a laminated top. I'm incredibly happy with my sister's Oliver and my Brooklyn. I'd buy another Orangewood in a heartbeat.
